Portland Roasting is a microroaster of specialty coffees. Since 1996, they have been roasting top grade Arabica coffee and espresso for delivery to coffeehouses, fine restaurants and gourmet grocery stores.

As artisan roasters, they combine traditional roasting methods with modern techniques. Their small batch European drum roaster is outfitted with state-of-the-art electronic and computer devices that ensure a consistent roast batch after batch.

Portland Roasting is all about sustainability. More than a policy or agenda item, for us sustainability is a set of values that affects every decision we make with regard to our customers, suppliers, products, and employees.

Environmental stewardship. Their e-team is entrusted to find environmental alternatives for all of our operations. Due in part to their efforts, Portland Roasting now uses environmentally friendly cleaning solvents and other products whenever possible. They have implemented a recycling program. And the after-burners on roaster far exceed the legal requirements for reducing harmful emissions.

Certified Organic. Portland Roasting is recognized by the National Organic Program (NOP) as a "Certified Organic" coffee roasting facility.

Shade Grown. Portland Roasting is a member of the NW Shade Grown Coffee campaign, which helps protect the habitat for migratory birds and animals in Latin America and the Caribbean.
